The Brahmas added goaltender Jack Wieneke before they headed south to Corpus Christi this past weekend delivering a dominant performance including Wieneke’s debut in the purple and black at American Bank Center. Wieneke was the NAHL Goaltender of the month for the month of September as he went 4-0 with the Maryland Black Bears. During that stretch he stopped 102 of a possible 110 shots, which was good for a .927 save percentage. That also included a 26-save shutout in a win against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs at the NAHL Showcase.
As expected, Wieneke continued his winning ways once he arrived in Brahma Land. The Plymouth, Minnesota native picked up two wins in Corpus against the Ice Rays. All told, Wieneke is a perfect 7-0 in the 2023-2024 season. Coach Dan Wildfong had this to say about the Wieneke signing, “Jack is a wall, we feel like we have found our one two punch like we had in Gramme and Smith last season. We are very excited to have him on board.”
The Brahmas head to El Paso this weekend but will be back on home ice November 10th as we kick off Military Appreciation Month.
