NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX — For the second time this month, the Brahmas dispatched the Jackalopes in short order, completing a weekend sweep. This time, the sweep came at home and snapped Odessa’s three-game win streak while extending the Brahmas’ to six games.
Friday marked goaltender Harrison Feeney’s second start with the Brahmas this season after joining the Brahmas in early October. Feeney was solid in his first appearance, but suffered an overtime loss in Topeka. This outing was even better for Feeney, who made several huge stops and finished with a sparkling 30-save performance on the night.
The Brahmas came out on top with a 2-1 win in overtime with both of their goals coming from defensemen.
Ryan Orgel scored his second as a Brahma for the lone regulation goal.

The Jacks later scored to tie the game, but the Brahmas were victorious in OT thanks to Kyle Hallbauer and Austin Bottrell. After blocking a pass and stripping the puck, Hallbauer found Bottrell with a deft pass and joined him for a 2-on-1 rush. Bottrell’s perfect saucer pass found its way over two Jackalopes’ sticks and onto Hallbauer’s tape for the game-winner.

Saturday’s game was a cleaner one on the part of the Brahmas — more offensive zone time and fewer madcap end-to-end rushes. Unfortunately, some unexpected technical difficulties disrupted the broadcast of the 4-1 win.

Aidan Spellacy was next on the board, crashing the net and tapping the puck in for a 2-0 lead.

The Jacks then scored to make it a 2-1 game, but the Brahmas got the goal back in the form of another O’Rourke goal, his seventh of the year.

The Brahmas’ final goal of the game came from Austin Bottrell, who has a point in each of the three games he’s played so far after returning from LTIR.

That was the figurative nail in the coffin as the Brahmas went on to win by a 4-1 score.
