NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – Saturday night at NYTEX was a bit different from the Friday washing the Brahmas put on the Bulls, but the home team still walked away with a 4-3 victory.

In the first period Ferris State commit Cam Clarke recorded his first career NAHL goal when his shot from the point evaded a mess of traffic in front to beat Anton Martinsson and crack open the scoring.

After taking the one goal lead into the locker room, the second period offense was turned up a notch by both teams.  Carson Kelley redirected a puck in front to advance the Brahmas lead to two, but in one of the similarities from Friday’s game, the Bulls answered quickly to trim the lead back to one.  Friday night fighter Jacob Nitsche scored on the man advantage, a rare penalty kill goal allowed by the Brahmas.

Late in the frame Nicholas Santoro was sprung on a breakaway and beat Kaczperski, knotting things at two.  The goal was the third of the season for the Robert Morris University commit.

When the team’s hit the ice for the third period the momentum was still in the favor of the Bulls as a point shot from Matt Nehls switched directions in front thanks to Nicholas Bohatiuk.  For the first time at home all season the Brahmas found themselves trailing in the third period.

The Amarillo lead wouldn’t last long though, just four minutes later Bud Madej’s shot from the point on the power play hit a man in front and bounced on to the tape of Kyle Patava who didn’t miss a gaping net.

Things remained tied until the clock crept down towards five minutes remaining but that’s when Peter Kessel proved to be clutch.  With a delayed penalty looming and a mess of cattle in front of Martisson, the Detroit native jammed away and forced the red light on.

The goal was Kessel’s seventh of the season and it secured a Brahmas sweep and an advancement of the season series to a perfect 7-0-0 in favor of Lone Star.

With the win the Brahmas currently hold the highest win percentage in the entire league at .833%.

In a few days the team will depart to the beach for a three game set against Corpus Christi, the first time the two will meet in the regular season.

Following the trip, the Brahmas return home for Military Appreciation Weekend sponsored by Dr. Pepper on Wednesday, November 25 through Saturday, November 28th when the boys will play three games in those four days.
