Whereas the Warriors have sewn up the top spot in the South Division and the, the Brahmas and the Mudbugs finished with the 2nd and 3rd seeds respectively, awarding the Brahmas home ice for Round 1 of the Robertson Cup Playoffs. The Brahmas and the Mudbugs legendary rivalry continues.
The format of the NAHL playoffs is a little different than the regular season in terms of overtime rules and procedures. In the Robertson Cup playoffs there are no shootouts. Overtime periods are full strength and full periods of play until a sudden death goal is scored.
Amarillo Warriors won their ninth game in a row to edge out the NM Ice Wolves for the last playoffs spot, and the honor of facing the Oklahoma Warriors. Winner will take on the winner of the Brahmas vs Shreveport semifinals.
The South Division Semifinals and Finals will be best of five series to determine the four conference champions, which will converge upon Blaine, MN next month at the Fogerty Ice Arena for the chance to hoist the 2023 Robertson Cup. All of the NAHL games are live-streamed exclusively on HockeyTV.
