NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – Despite a horrific start on Friday the Brahmas rallied to pick up a 3-1 win over the Odessa Jackalopes.
It was a hot start for the Jacks as their first shot on goal of the night beat Corbin Kaczperski off of the tape of Hampus Sjodahl. The goal was Sjodahl’s 23rd of the season and would be the only one of the first.
After Jeff Potter described his team as “looking like they had a hangover from the All-Star festivities”, Jakob Romo changed that just 43 seconds into the second period. Joey Fallon set up the possession from behind the attacking net and on his second hack in front of Dean Shatzer, deposited the puck and flicked the red light.
Play entered the second intermission scoreless but another hot exit of the locker room quickly gave the Brahmas their first lead of the night. The Brejcha-Fallon-Romo line hooked up yet again, this time for the Princeton commits sixth of the season.
Later in the third Alex Beradinelli continued his magical season with a goal that amply described his fortunate. While streaking down the left hand wing, the Pennsylvania native centered a pass that would have found no one, however it ricocheted off of Jacks’ defender Ben DeMaio’s skate and past his own netminder.
The goal would settle the score at 3-1, ultimately the final.
With the victory, Brahmas head coach Dan Wildfong has officially reached 100 wins in the North American Hockey League. Dan achieves the triple digit win category in just two and three quarters seasons with the team.
Yale commit Corbin Kaczperski picks up his 18th win of his season, stopping 23 after the initial goal.
