Brahmas & Dallas Police to Host Benefit Hockey Game March 6

Feb 25, 2021

PRESS RELEASE —

Brahma Land mourns the loss of Dallas Police Officer Mitchell Penton, who died in the line of service when he was struck by an intoxicated driver on February 13th while assisting a stranded motorist. Officer Penton was a fan of Brahmas Hockey, and longtime family friends of the entire Trazzera family, owners of the NYTEX Sports Centre and Lone Star Brahmas Hockey Club.

The Brahmas and the Dallas Police Department have teamed up to present a friendly exhibition hockey game between the Dallas Police Department Hockey Team against the Brahmas Staff Hockey Team on March 6th, 2021 at 1:45pm in the Main Arena at the NYTEX Sports Centre. The Brahmas Staff team features a lineup to include Dan Wildfong, Frank Trazzera, Sal Trazzera, Chad Siewert, Hockey Director Knute Anderson, the Zamboni whisperer Glenn DeCicco, and many more! Do not miss this fun opportunity to see Brahmas’ brass put it all out there on the ice. Who knows, maybe somebody will get detained for high-sticking?! Free to the public, masks are required to be worn at all times at the NYTEX Sports Centre.

In addition to the exhibition game at 1:45PM, the Lone Star Brahmas will be wearing a specialty jersey for one night only against the Odessa Jackalopes later the very same evening, March 6th for the 7:30PM puck drop. (Tickets required – click here). Inspired by the Dallas Police Department uniforms, the specialty DPD jerseys are designed to commemorate Brahma Land BACKS THE BLUE and to generate grassroots support for the Penton family. As such, immediately following this marquis NAHL matchup, the Brahmas will hold auction for ALL of the game worn DPD theme jerseys with 100% of ALL PROCEEDS of the auction to benefit the family of Officer Penton. You read that correctly. The entirety of the dollars raised during the auction will go directly to the Penton family, so let’s dig deep for our fallen officer and his young family.
