New Game, Same Result; Brahmas Earn One Point in 3-2 Shootout Loss

Feb 13, 2015

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (February 13) – It was a similar line of events for the matchup against the Bees in Hidalgo for the Brahmas Friday night: limited shots, seven round shootout and a 3-2 loss, earning just one point in the standings.

A slow start by the Brahmas led to a 0-2 score in the first period before Oskar Andren beat the Killer Bees netminder, Ben Johansson with two minutes remaining in the opening frame.  Lone Star's goaltender, Jake Kupsky faced 12 shots in the second and six additional in the third but remained strong and relied on the guys in front to tie the game.

Ludvig Larsson came through with a pass from Andren at the 18:17 in the second to even the game which ultimately led to the shootout as the third and OT were scoreless.

The much anticipated shootout went to 7 rounds with the Bees coming out on top with 3 scorers. Brahmas' Liam Stirtzinger and Anton Santesson were the only Lone Star players able to find the back of the net for the shootout.
