Meet the Brahmas Media Team

Aug 31, 2015

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Brahmas staff has been working hard this off-season to make Year of the Fan a memorable one in Tarrant County. With the season just days away, the organization would like to formerly introduce the fans to the new media team for the upcoming season. Nick Marek is back on the headset for his second season and he will be joined in the broadcast booth by Veronica Steen and Walt Ruff.

Steen, a broadcast journalism student and former defenseman, is no stranger to Brahmaland. She has been a part of the Brahmas family for the last two seasons with her brother, Johan, playing 114 games for Lone Star. Steen will be a co-host of the brand new, LIVE Post-Game Show presented by Ram Craft and assist with coverage for Brahma Vision throughout the year. Fans are encouraged to watch the post-game show minutes after the final whistle in the east, upstairs hallway behind Section P. Steen will provide analysis and break down the game with her co-host. This will also be streamed live on the Fast Hockey broadcast.

Ruff is finishing his final semester at Temple University (PA), and he relocated to Texas to join the Brahmas staff. Fans will hear Ruff on both the NAHL and NA3HL Brahmas broadcasts working as a play-by-play announcer, color comentator and post-game show host among other things. Additionally, Ruff will provide in-arena commentary following Brahma wins. He will interview the Brahmas top star of the game and assist with the announcement of the three stars of the game. Last year, Ruff was a reporter and anchor for Temple's "OwlSports Update" and is thrilled to begin his hockey broadcasting career in Brahmaland.

Be sure to check out the Inside the Bullpen Episode with Walt and Veronica. Single game tickets will go on sale on lonestarbrahmas.com starting Tuesday, September 1st. The meet the team event will be held Thursday, September 3rd from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the NYTEX Sports Centre lobby. Fans can begin picking up their season tickets at the event.

The Brahmas are fortunate to have Veronica and Walt on board this season and they promise to make 2015-16 season the most memorable season to date.
