Meet our Scouting Director, Lori Seguin!

May 1, 2025

Ever wondered how the Brahmas amass such a talented roster, year after year? We could tell you that it’s because Brahmaland is the place to be, but in reality, the faces behind the scenes are who make the Brahmas, THE Brahmas.

Meet Lori Seguin (no relation to Tyler Seguin of the Dallas Stars). Seguin oversees and manages all of the scouting for the Lone Star Brahmas, and without her, we wouldn’t be the organization we are today.

“How did you get into scouting?”

“I was at a coaching conference and ran into a friend who had just accepted a head coaching job in the USHL. A couple of weeks later, he called me and asked if I would be interested in scouting. I accepted. He ended up moving on from the organization about a year later, and I decided to stay for a second year. After that second year, the ownership revamped the team. Shortly after, a friend of mine referred me to Coach Wildfong, and I knew after speaking with him that this was an organization that I wanted to be apart of to grow and thrive. I’ve now been with the Brahmas for four years, and I know I made the right decision.”

“What do you find to be the most rewarding part of scouting?”

“I think the most rewarding part of scouting is finding a player that is hungry to take that next step in his hockey career and being able to give him that opportunity. The best part is seeing that player achieve his dreams by winning the Robertson Cup and accepting a NCAA D1 Scholarship.”

“What was it like knowing you played a critical role in winning the 2024 Robertson Cup?”

“I guess I never thought of myself as having a ‘critical’ role in winning the Robertson Cup. I always felt it was a great team effort with our management and scouting staff. I had a great amount of guidance and support from Coach Wildfong, Coach Murphy, and our Director of Player Personnel, Mike Bloome. Winning the Robertson Cup was absolutely one of the greatest moments in my hockey career. Yet, seeing the joy of the players I helped get there as they lifted the cup was the best moment of my hockey career. It was such an amazing experience, and it makes you hungrier to do it again.”

We owe a huge portion of our success to Lori, so if you run into her, make sure to thank her for all that she’s done to make Brahmaland great!
