NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Junior Hockey News released it's first ever monthly Junior Hockey Tier II rankings earlier this week and it pinned the Lone Star Brahmas as the fifth best team in North America.
"This will be the first time that the North American Hockey League will be ranked together with the Canadian Junior Hockey League, or Tier II teams from ten leagues in Canada," TJHN reported.
The ranking were compiled by a "staff of more than three dozen" North American scouts not affiliated with any of the teams. Out of 11 leagues, both the Wichita Falls Waildcats and Lone Star Brahmas represented the NAHL's South Division in the top five of the inaugural, independent rankings. Four other NAHL teams were included to round out the top-20 rankings heading into November.
Lone Star already has victories against the Wildcats and Wilderness this season. Also, the team hung in close with a tough 1-0 shootout loss to the Fairbanks Ice Dogs in the NAHL Showcase; a shootout that lasted six rounds against TJHN's number one team.
