NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Brahmas made the most of their advantages and disadvantages on Friday, scoring on the power play, penalty kill, and in empty net fashion on the way to a 4-1 win.

The first goal of the evening came when reigning North American Hockey League defenseman of the month Dalton Skelly worked the blue line, provided a dish to Alex Berardinelli on his right, who then twisted his body and slid one cross ice to Tyler Drevitch for a one-time laser that beat Graham Hunt.

Seven minutes into the second Colton Meekhof threw a shot on Conor O’Brien from the point and thanks to bodies in front, it was able to ring off of the inside of the post and in to tie the game up.  Before the period came to a conclusion, the Brahmas would regain their lead when the other end of their special teams hooked up for some magic.

Alex Berardinelli backhand sauced a pass from his own zone to spring Hogan Davidson on a one-one-chance with the IceRays defender.  Davidson lowered his body and shielded off his man the entire length of the ice and beat Graham Hunt backhand, thrusting the NYTEX crowd into celebration.

The manpower theme continued into the final frame when Bud Madej recorded his fifth power-play goal, now placing him in a tie for the league amongst defensemen in the league.  3-1 remained the Brahmas lead for most of the third and the cherry on top came when Hogan Davidson recorded his second goal of the night, depositing it into the empty net.

O’Brien’s win is his second in a row and 9th of the season.  He made 18 saves on 19 shots in the effort.

Tickets are still on sale for tomorrow’s game as the team takes on the IceRays again.  Puck drop is set for 7:35 and you can purchase them atop your screen under the tab, at 817-336-4ICE, or at the box office.
