'Cats Sent Home On Doggy Day

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Brahmas gained two valuable points on Monday defeating the league-leading Wichita Falls Wildcats by a score of 4-2.

The first period was filled with two momentous occasions and three goals.  6:50 in Peter Kessel rifled a shot on net that ricocheted to the left-side face-off dot where Sean Giles hammered one past Justin Kapelmaster for his first of the season.  A minute and a half later, Dalton Skelly placed a wrist shot through traffic and Tyler Drevitch was there to guide it into the unprotected net.  Following the two goals, David Marabella notched his first career North American Hockey League goal after receiving a flawless saucer pass from Hogan Davidson.

Michael Rounds of the Wildcats cut the lead to two after a harmless shot from the point deflected past Corbin Kaczperski.

In the final frame Carson Kelley added some State Farm insurance on the power play when he picked up the scraps in front for the Brahmas fourth goal of the afternoon.  Nick Rosa of the ‘Cats would add a goal that ultimately proved to be irrelevant, thus concluding the scoring at 4-2.

Kaczperski remains red-hot winning his ninth consecutive decision.

The team now has a few days off before heading to Wichita Falls on Friday for the final meeting of the season between the two teams.  Following that a tirp to Odessa is on deck before returning to NYTEX Sports Centre on February 5th and 6th against the Corpus Christi IceRays.
