'Cats Continue To Purr

Dec 12, 2015

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – Like a broken record the Brahmas struggled to score against the Wildcats, resulting in a 5-1 loss on Saturday night.

The first period went by scoreless but in the second Wichita Falls pulled ahead by one thanks to a two-on-one that was polished off by Ryan Burnett.  Additionally in the second the Brahmas lost services of defenseman Bud Madej, who was given a game misconduct for spearing.

Scoring was of plenty in the third and it opened with Austin Beaulieu striking on a power play tally to make it a 2-0 game.  A dejected crowd was brought back to life just seconds later though when Alex Berardinelli cut the lead back to one with his fourth short-handed goal of the season.

Unfortunately that would be the only goal of the night for the home team as they watched the top-notch Wildcats pour three more on to slaughter the rest of the contest.

First it was Nikita Litviak banging home a rebound to push the lead back to two and after that Austin Albrecht hit an empty netter with just under two minutes remaining.

With the game being already out of reach the ‘Cats placed another past a Brahmas team that appeared to have given up.  A 5-1 loss doesn’t contain very many positives, however Brandon Perrone then entered the game for the final 58 seconds for his first North American Hockey League Game.

The Brahmas now hit the road and prepare to take on the same Wildcats team Thursday-Saturday of the upcoming week.  After the holiday the team has trips to Topeka and Odessa before returning home on Friday, January 8th against the Odessa Jackalopes.
