BREAKING: Erik Gordon Headed to Fairbanks

Jan 26, 2017

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX — The Lone Star Brahmas have agreed to trade goaltender Erik Gordon to the Fairbanks Ice Dogs in return for a 2017 draft pick.

In 17 games for the Brahmas, Gordon posted an 11-2-1 record with a .909 save percentage and a 2.23 goals against average.

He also took a stint in the USHL, playing four games with the U17 United States National Team Development squad and registering his first USHL win during that time, making 31 saves to shut out the Youngstown Phantoms.

With a 1999 birth year, the Georgia native has three years of junior eligibility after the conclusion of the 2016-17 season.

The Ice Dogs are having a subpar season after winning the Robertson Cup last year, but acquiring a young goaltender like Gordon will certainly be an asset as they look towards building for next season and beyond.

The Ice Dogs play the Aston Rebels this weekend.

This trade brings the Brahmas back down to two goaltenders on the active roster. Alec Calvaruso (17-4-0) and Max Prawdzik (3-0-0) will share the net down the stretch. Calvaruso is expected to start Saturday against the Topeka Roadrunners.
