BREAKING: Brahmas Make Player for Player Swap

Dec 7, 2016

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Lone Star Brahmas have agreed to trade forward Levi Wunder to the Odessa Jackalopes in exchange for forward Trevor Zenas.

“I think both teams win on this. We needed a guy that could kill a penalty and it worked out. They needed some more offense. It’s a younger kid that we got that we can help develop maybe for a couple years here where Levi is going to college next year. It’s a good hockey trade.”

Zenas scored three times in 21 games playing in the Permian Basin with one of his goals coming against the Brahmas. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound forward still has two seasons of junior eligibility remaining.

The Spring Lake, Michigan native played last season for the Fox Motors U18 T1EHL program. Through 32 games, Zenas tallied 13 goals and 18 assists for 31 points. The Bloomington Thunder own the 18-year-old’s rights in the United States Hockey League.

Levi Wunder has eight points through 22 games in his first North American Hockey League season. His first NAHL goal came in overtime against the Amarillo Bulls on October 15.

The former Brahma from Escanaba, Michigan is set to play NCAA Division I hockey next season for the University of Alabama-Huntsville.

Trevor Zenas is expected to play this weekend against the Corpus Christi IceRays. He will be wearing number 8.
