NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX — The Lone Star Brahmas are pleased to announce the tendering of Mathieu Moreira of the Winnipeg Blues (MJHL) roster.

Moreira, a 2003 forward, made an impact in his second season with the Winnipeg Blues, totaling 32 points (18g-14a) in 48 games played, including four goals in the Blues’ six-game playoff run. A native of Winnipeg, MB, the skater developed in his own backyard, playing for the Winnipeg Sharks and Thrashers organizations. The 5’11/180 lbs. player is not only a goal-scorer but a playmaker on the ice, ranking within the top seven in goals, assists and total points among the Blues roster.

“We are very excited to be able to add a player of Mathieu’s caliber to our incoming class of tendered players,” said associate head coach of the Brahmas, Ryan Anderson. “Our scouting and coaching staff felt that it was extremely important to add a dynamic offensive threat with junior experience and Mathieu fills that need. Not only is Mathieu a great player on the ice but he has shown maturity and leadership throughout the tendering process that we believe will be vital during the 2022-23 NAHL season.”

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team.
