Brahmas tender Jesse Kirkby

Jun 14, 2022

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX — The Lone Star Brahmas are pleased to announce the tendering of Jesse Kirkby of the Pembroke Lumber Kings (CCHL) roster.

Kirkby, a 2002 forward, made an impact in his three seasons with the Lumber Kings, totaling 99 points (41g-58a) in 104 games played, including four goals in the Kings’ seven-game playoff run. A native of North Bay, ON, the skater developed in his own backyard, playing for the North Bay Trappers AAA and Powassan VooDoos organizations. The 6’1/165 lbs. player is not only a goal-scorer but also a points-leading playmaker on the ice every season since 14U AAA in the 2015-16 season.

“We are very excited to be able to add a player like Jesse to our incoming class of tendered players,” said Associate Head Coach of the Brahmas, Ryan Anderson. “Our scouting and coaching staff felt that it was extremely important to add a dynamic offensive threat with junior experience and Jesse fills that need. Not only is Jesse a great player on the ice but he has shown maturity and leadership throughout the tendering process that we believe will be vital during the 2022-23 NAHL season.”

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team.
