Brahmas Take Point in Amarillo

Dec 14, 2018

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX — The Brahmas traveled to Amarillo this past weekend to play the South Division-leading Bulls in another installment of the Battle of the Cattle. They picked up a point in a shootout loss on Friday.

FRIDAY (1-0 SO LOSS)

BOX SCORE

As has been the case recently with a slew of missing skaters, the Brahmas offense struggled to get going. Luckily for them, Amarillo had just as much trouble finding the back of the net.

The Bulls had plenty of opportunity, peppering 49 shots on goal through regulation and overtime. Brahmas goaltender Harrison Feeney was equal to the task, stopping all the shots and recording his third shutout of the season.

The Brahmas would eventually fall in the shootout, although newcomer Joey Baez did provide a highlight-reel goal.

SATURDAY (3-2 LOSS)

BOX SCORE

Both teams mustered a bit more in terms of goals on Saturday night, but it wasn’t exactly an offensive firestorm. The Bulls got on the board midway through the first period, but the Brahmas answered back with a Frankie Trazzera goal.

Amarillo proceeded to score twice in the second period, and goaltender Justin Evenson kept the Brahmas off the board in the middle frame.

Defenseman Scott Persson scored on the power play in the third period to make it 3-2.

Unfortunately it was too little, too late for Lone Star, who ended up dropping the game by a score of 3-2 to finish with one point on the weekend.

UP NEXT

The Brahmas travel to Shreveport for three games in three days this weekend. It’ll be the last of three straight weeks on the road; the team will return home for games on December 21 and 22 against Corpus Christi.
