Brahmas Come Up Short In Shootout

Feb 4, 2015

After a split at the NYTEX Sports Centre over the weekend the Lone Star Brahmas made the trek to Wichita Falls to face the Wildcats in the rubber game of their three game series.

Wichita Falls broke the ice at 4:54 of the first when Jonathan Lazarus put back a rebound of a Nakita Litviak shot. They logged their second just 2:18 later after Jake Townsend kept in a clearing attempt at the far point and slid it down to Collin Staub in the right circle. Staub found Austin Beaulieu all alone at the left hash mark for a wrister off of Jake Kupsky’s glove and in.

Alexey Solovyev got Lone Star on the board with 2:55 to go in the first on a slapshot from the point after taking a pass from Hogan Davidson who stole the puck along the far halfwall. Storm Wahlrab pulled the Brahmas even at 19:10 on the power play when redirected a Solovyev blast from the point over Austin Shaw’s left pad.
