Feb 15, 2022

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Lone Star Brahmas are pleased to announce the signing of three tenders, including Ivan Zadvernyuk of the Los Angeles Jr. Kings, Jaxon Wilson of the Chicago Reapers and Liam Chapman of the Buffalo Regals.

Ivan Zadvernyuk, a 2004 forward, has played 33 games for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings 18U AAA program in the 2021-22 season, tallying 39 points (27g-12a). Currently, he averages 1.18 points per game. The 6’2 skater previously spent time with the Sioux Falls Power 16U AAA team and Severnaya Zvezda Moskva youth program in Russia.

“The credit goes to our scout Lori Seguin in identifying Ivan as a prospect for us for the upcoming season,” said associate head coach of the Brahmas, Ryan Anderson. “ Lori spent countless hours watching game tape and truly believed in Ivan’s ability to be a big-time player for us this upcoming season. Ivan was also able to spend a week with us prior to his Jr. Kings team competing in the Frosty Cup. It was quickly apparent that Lori was right in her assessment of his game. His ability to use his body to protect pucks and create space in tight areas was very attractive to us. He also showed an ability to score when he had chances. We are very excited to add a player of Ivan’s caliber!”

Jaxon Wilson, captain of the Chicago Reapers 18U AAA team, recorded 31 points in 25 games (16g-15a) in the NAPHL 18U division and 30 points (13g-17a) in 26 games in the 18U division. The 2004 forward has also suited up for the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite and Florida Alliance youth hockey programs. Wilson, a Mundelein, IL native, currently sits at a 1.15 points per game average, one of the highest on his team.

“Jax was a player that we identified early on during the Blaine showcase in September and we followed his progress closely over the early months of the season,” continued Anderson. “Our Director of Player Personnel, Mike Bloom, kept close tabs on Jax and Jax’s play quickly proved he was a player we wanted. Jax has an elite compete level, vision and ability to shoot the puck.  We feel he will quickly become a fan favorite in Brahmaland with how hard he plays the game!”

Liam Chapman comes to the Brahmas from the Buffalo Regals 18U AAA program, playing 18 games and amassing 9 points (1g-8a). A playmaking defenseman, Chapman tallied 42 points (8g-34a) in 47 games playing for the Seacoast Performance Academy 16U during the 2020-21 season. Hailing from New Hampshire, the 6’0” 2004-born skater developed in the Seacoast Spartans youth program.

“Liam is a smooth-skating, big-bodied, puck-moving defenseman that fits a need in our lineup for the upcoming season,” said Anderson. “Jeff Kolcon, Associate Director of Player Personnel, spent many hours watching Liam’s Regal team and highly recommended Liam. We feel that Liam will seamlessly make the transition from midget to junior hockey due to his skating and hockey sense!”

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team.
