It was Déjà vu all over again at the NYTEX Sports Centre as for the fourth series in a row the Lone Star Brahmas and Topeka Road Runners split a two game series after Topeka won game one of the set.

Conner Enciso kicked off the scoring early at just 1:10 into the first with an assist to Kellen Wasell. Topeka was able to knot the score at one apiece with just under five minutes to go in the period while on the power play.

Newly acquired Thomas Aldworth picked up his first goal in a Brahmas sweater with the man advantage at 10:15 of the second. Wasell had the primary assist for his second point of the evening while Austin Thielges had the secondary assist.

The Brahmas came out of the second intermission with a one goal lead, but had to scramble to hang on to it after Ben Owen was whistled for a tripping major at 3:55. With Lone Star down a man for an extended period, the Road Runners controlled the final stanza outshooting the Brahmas 11 – 1 in the period. However, TJ Black stood on his head to preserve the one goal lead.

The Road Runners held the advantage in shots on goal at 31 – 12 and each team was 1 – 5 on the power play.

The Brahmas will continue their home stand next weekend against the Corpus Christi Icerays. Lone Star swept the Icerays in their last meeting in early January. Tickets are available for both games by visiting the NYTEX Sports Centre Box Office or by calling the Brahmas Sales Office at 817-336-4423.
