Bounce Back

Nov 20, 2015

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – It was a swing of emotions on Friday night at the American Bank Center but ultimately the Brahmas walked away with a 4-2 victory.

A flaming hot first period from the North Richland Hills' boys included goals from Peter Bates, Oskar Andren and Carson Kelley en route to a 3-0 lead early.

In the second Plano, TX native Troy York recorded his first career NAHL goal as he beat Dryden McKay to extend the lead to four.

Late in the second period a scary situation occurred and the game was sent to a delay when Brahmas forward Tomas Brejcha was cut by a skate on his right arm.  Play was stopped immediately due to the severity of the injury and teams went back to their respective locker rooms.

Brejcha was taken to a nearby hospital, flashing a thumb up and appearing in good spirits as he entered the ambulance.

When play resumed the IceRays were the only team that recorded any offense as Carter Johnson recorded his fifth and sixth goals of the season.

The third period overall was hindered by physical play and sets things up for a what is expected to be a scrappy third game on Saturday.

In net, Corbin Kaczperski picked up his sixth win of the season stopping all but two shots sent his way.  Unofficially he was credited with 15.

Saturday’s contest wraps up the series and will begin at 7:11 P.M.
