The Lone Star Brahmas are once again facing the Shreveport Mudbugs, for the 13 time this season in an ultimate showdown for the NAHL South Division Semi Final and the right to face the Oklahoma Warriors for the South Division title and a ticket to Blaine, MN for the 2023 NAHL Robertson Cup.
“Always a good game” is nice to hear, but this time the stakes couldn’t be higher with the South Division Finals starting next week and it’s now “Win or Go Home” for both teams in this 5th game of a best of 5 games series. Three of the four games in this playoff series have required overtime and plenty of it. Brahmas took the quadruple overtime Game 1, and the Mudbugs nabbed the overtime win in Game 2 at the NYTEX Sports Centre. Friday Night the Brahmas scored two goals in rapid fire of the 3rd period to win Game 3, while the Mudbugs scored a last-second buzzer beater in the final ticks of overtime in Game 4 on Saturday night.
With all NAHL eyes on the strongest rivalry in the South Division, two powerhouses will battle it out one more time for the right to play the Warriors in Oklahoma this weekend. Tickets are available but dwindling fast.
