Brahmas Add Equipment Manager to Staff

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX — With the impending departure of longtime Lone Star Brahmas staff member Mark Riepe, the team has hired Aidan Zeitz to fill the equipment manager role for the 2017-18 season.

Riepe will be making the jump from junior hockey to the professional level. “I’ve been really grateful for the past four years here. I’ve learned a lot with Coach Dan and with [assistant equipment manager] Numan Arango by my side,” Riepe said. “But I’m really excited for this opportunity to move up.”

Although Riepe will certainly be missed, the Brahmas are confident that newcomer Aidan Zeitz will be more than up to the task.

Zeitz, who hails from Philadelphia, is currently completing a degree in Recreation and Sport Management at Coast Carolina University.

“I’ve wanted to be an equipment manager since I was 17 and realized that I had a real passion for this side of being on a team,” Zeitz said.

Zeitz has plenty of prior experience working in hockey.  “Before school I was working at Philadelphia’s most popular hockey store, Hockey Giant Cherry Hill,” Zeitz said. “While working at Hockey Giant, I was working with the local middle school program where I moved onto Coastal Carolina University to pursue a degree and work for the school’s team and interning for Jeff Schneider’s Big Shots as an equipment manager.”

“I wanted to thank some people,” Zeitz added. “I wouldn’t be here without Humberto Yanez, Mark Hullings, Ben Ellis, and my family and friends.”

Zeitz will be joining the team early next week and is ready to get started. “The biggest thing I am looking forward to this season is being part of a competitive team and organization. On a personal level I’m hoping to grow as professional and help the team win by making sure that the boys out on the ice can perform the best that they possibly can.”
