With the 2013-2014 season is in the books, the staff of the Lone Star Brahmas are hard at work on improving the on and off ice product for the 2014-2015 campaign.
As for the on ice portion of the product, Head Coach Dan Wildfong and Assistant Coach Jeff Potter are en route to Orland Park, Illinois and the Arctic Ice Arena for our Pre Draft Try Out Camp. The camp will be taking place May 16-18. Joining Coaches Wildfong and Potter will be the new Head Coach of the NA3HL Brahmas, Al Rooney.
The front office is undergoing a bit of a makeover with the addition of Hunter Van Pelt to the sales team. Hunter is the new Senior Account Manager for the Brahmas. He brings with him a wealth of experience in sports sales, the bulk of which are in hockey. Also joining the staff is a very familiar face in Clifton Foster. Clif is the voice of the Brahmas on our fasthockey.com feeds as well as the host of the weekly Brahmas coaches show which is filmed inside Zuroma. Clif will be the new Communications Manager for the team. Look for Clif to continue his coaches show as well as some community appearances throughout the year. Scott Plourde is moving into a Sales/Business Development roll, and will direct the game ops during the upcoming season. Chad Siewert will be heading up the front office as Vice President of Ticket Operations.
Mongo is going to be a busy bull this off season. He will be appearing at the Crown Plaza Colonial Invitational’s Kids Clinic this Sunday at 2pm at the Colonial Country Club. He might lobby tournament director Michael Tothe for a spot in next year’s field while he is there.
The Ice inside the main arena at the NYTEX Sports Centre will be getting a makeover as well. Currently the crew is hard at work making sure we have the best sheet of ice in the league next season. Ice in the main rink will be going back in this August with a fresh new center ice logo. Other things in Brahmaland getting a makeover are our website. Resident Genius Lee Rafferty and his team are hard at work loading it with some great content, and making it more user friendly.
The Brahmas are in need of your help. We need a slogan for the 2014-2015 season. Last year the slogan was, “Not the Same Old Bull.” Submit your entry on lonestarbrahmas.com. We will be accepting submissions from now until Memorial Day. After Memorial Day we will compile all the submissions, and let the fans vote on which one we should use next season.
